Cordis String Quartet was formed in 2016 by four musicians from Latvia, Japan, Spain and Germany, all of whom are currently studying at the Royal Academy of Music in London.
The quartet has received advice and lessons from Martin Outram and Jo Cole, as well as with members of the Doric Quartet.

They made their debut recital at the Regent Hall in London last March and joined the ProQuartet programme in 2017, meeting with Oliver Wille during a training session in Paris.

"For us, playing chamber music is something absolutely wonderful that enables us to interact with each other at all times. This is especially evident in a string quartet setting, where mixing the different colours of the instruments can create magical moments. It is this close interaction between the individual players that can grant absolute artistic freedom to the ensemble as a whole.
Our aim is to explore and give life to these ideas."
